Moss (born February 13th, 1977) is an ex- American footballer. He was a player
with the Minnesota Vikings (Oak Raiders), New England Patriots (New England
Patriots), Tennessee Titans (Tennessee Titans) and the San Francisco 49ers in
the National Football League. He is widely recognized as Jerry Rice's most
outstanding wide receiver. He holds the NFL single season touchdown reception
record of 23 in 2007 the NFL rookie single season touchdown reception record
(17 in 1998), and is second on the all-time NFL regular season touchdown
receptions with 156. Moss was well-known for his ability to secure a his
contested catch "mossed" is nowadays a football term. He began his
career as a studio analyst on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown and Tuesday Night
Countdown shows. Moss was born in Rand, West Virginia native. Moss was a
student at DuPont High School. This was one of the two schools that later
combined to form Riverside High School. He excelled at football, basketball and
baseball. Randy was also a part of the school's debate club. Moss helped lead
the DuPont Panthers football team to two consecutive state championships in
1992, 1993. Moss was a renowned wide receiver. He also played as a free safety
and punt return. He won the Kennedy Award for West Virginia Football Player of
the Year in 1994. Parade magazine named him to their All-American high-school
football team in 1995, and in 2009, he was named one of the 50 most outstanding
football players from high schools ever.
