Abi Clarke
In the past
i.e. Early 2020. In the olden days comedians would have had the expectation to
tour across the UK for many years before being invited to a TV panel, and later
selling an arena tour. It's not easy at the moment. Comedy is one of the art
forms which has managed to remain performed front of a live crowd, but we'll
not be having arena tours anytime soon. But, one Bristol comedian has a huge
following through a the social media lockdown. Abi Clarke never set out to
become an internet-star. Abi Clarke is a young woman of 24 who lives in Henbury
, England with her parents, made her first videos online to "build a
community of similar people who would enjoy my stand-up comedy." "I
performed a lot in Devon to men older than 50 who weren't so keen on my Love
Island Sims and Twilight references, so it was the right time to get online and
find others who were young and would appreciate my stand-up comedy." Abi,
who lives in Hen bury with her parents has continued to upload her videos to
Instagram, Twitter, and Tik Tok. Her inspiration comes from many sources,
including conversations with strangers, chat room, and writes down everything
she thinks on her phone.
